IT Training Courses

Skills421 (www.skills421.com) specialises in Java and Java Enterprise Classroom Led IT Training Courses. These courses are offered both as 5 days courses during the week and 2 day courses during the Weekends.

Along with our Java courses we also offer 5 Day and Weekend classes in Rule Engine technology – specifically JBOSS Drools, and the Spring Framework: Core Spring, Spring MVC and Spring WebFlow.

For the iPhone and iPad Developers we offer hands-on Training Courses in Objective-C, iOS Development for the iPhone and iOS Development for the iPad.

As a Skills421 Delegate you can work on our own Skills421 computers or you can bring your own laptop with you to the course. All delegates will be able to take the training materials away with them, including their project work, and will be invited to join a dedicated Skills421 Community Group for ongoing support, questions and to keep in touch with other delegates.

Solutions are provided to all the exercises on the day.

Trainers

All our Java Trainers are Java Certified with over 10 years of Industry Experience working for major clients including IBM, Bank of America, the MOD and local Government. They are also experienced trainers with clients including Hewlett Packard, Tplusplus and Training Camp.

All our Objective-C and iOS Trainers have developed and deployed Apps to the Apple App Store.

Course Projects

During each course you will develop a working knowledge of your chosen topic and will develop a working application as part of your course project.

Java Foundation

During this training course you will develop a Swing Share and Portfolio Management System that provides real-time updates of Share Prices and allows you to create and monitor your own Stock Portfolio.

The project will make use of Java, JDBC, Hibernate and JPA along with implementation using Concurrency (multi-Threading), a working knowledge of MVC (Model View Controller), XML Formatting and Property Files.

Java Enterprise

During this training course you will move this whole application to the Web using technologies including JSF, PrimeFaces, JPA and Enterprise Java Beans and will use Web Services to connect to the Java Swing project from the Java Foundation training course.

Spring Courses

During the Spring training courses you will rebuild the Web application using Core Spring, Spring MVC and Spring WebFlow technology. You will make use of Dependency Injection and Inversion of Control (IOC) and will use Web Services to connect to the Swing project from the Java Foundation training course.

Objective-C

During the Objective-C training course you will develop multi-threaded code that connects to the Internet and downloads real-time stock prices and will develop the Model Framework and a command line View Framework to manage and monitor your Stock Portfolio.

iOS Development for the iPhone

During the iOS Development for the iPhone Course you will develop a fully interactive Stock Management iPhone App that is compatible with both iOS 6 and the new iOS7.

iOS Development for the iPad

During the iOS Development for the iPad Course you will move the whole iPhone project to the iPad and customise it to make best use of the iPad.

Databases

Java Databases

During the Java Foundation training course and the Java Enterprise training course you will work with PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle; and will use Connection Pools and Transaction management.

iOS Databases

During the Developing for iPhone and Developing for iPad training courses you will work with Core Data.
